The primary goal within this project was to create a functional chair that is easily transportable. The biggest constraint was the dimensional restriction when the chair was folded (18 x 18 x 9 in). Staying within these bounds along with creating a chair with structural integrity was a challenge that I was able to overcome. I wanted to maintain a visually pleasing geometric shape not only when set up for seating, but also when folded for transportation. Because of this, I chose to roughly emulate the shape of a tote bag when folded.
