Budaoweng Bank
Inspired by the Chinese toy Budaoweng, roughly translated as “cannot knock over”, this piggy bank represents a playful design concept that repurposes cardboard packaging. The act of saving money, rocking the bank and hearing the coins, and then tearing it open to reveal the savings inside is a satisfying interaction chain for the user. After recycling the cardboard from the used piggy bank, the user can build another to start saving for their next purchase. For younger savers, the inside of the piggy bank can be adapted to have shapes of different coins to help them learn to count up their savings.
